Notes: "In 1965, when the A. Lietz Company of San Francisco was bought out and moved to Kansas City, the name was changed to ""The Lietz Co."" By that time Lietz made nothing themselves and imported most of their engineering and drafting instruments from Japan, especially from Sokkisha. This is one of those Sokkisha planimeters, and features a zero-setting push button. After 1990, the name was changed again to Sokkia, who still sell planimeters, but electronic ones."
