Notes: "This is a precision polar planimeter. While we are used to seeing rolling planimeters use a disc for precise recording, it is somewhat uncommon on polar planimeters. There are two features that give this planimeter its increased precision: the consistent suface of the paper on the disc, and the rotation of the disk which is driven at a high gear ratio by a gear around the edge of the large brass weight."
